Shew.

First week of chaos: Day two.

Last semester of my undergrad career. Tuesday.

I'm exhausted.

The internship is great. I love it. My first day there, I found out my mentor was called that morning for a consult on Congresswoman Gifford. Then we go into staff meeting, I get to sit in on the testing of a 10 year old patient, I was introduced to all of the staff, given an office (an actual office, not just a cubicle). It was just, amazing. I'm having a great time. The downside? I'm getting up at 6:30 to work at 8, then I have classes that go pretty much the rest of the day. I'm learning this semester, as exciting as it is to be so close to graduation, it going to be difficult.

Hopefully I'll grow used to it. I mean, when I was working for Homeland Security, I was working 50 hours weeks and going to school full time. Now I have 11 hours (1 credit hour short of full time) and am working this internship 16 hours a week.

With any luck, Mondays and Tuesdays will be the worst of it, and the rest of the week won't be so stressful.

I picked up a Forensic Night Class to supplement my internship (I needed another 3 hr class, preferably night class so it wouldn't interfere with the internship), and that just worked out perfectly.

Since we have a mini-blizzard outside, I'm really hoping I don't drive to Richmond tonight (the second time today) to go to this night class, only to have the professor hand out the syllabus and send us on our way.

Did I mention where my internship is? If I didn't, it's Lexington Forensic Neuropsychiatry. It's super interesting and I think it will look fantastic on a grad school CV. Speaking of which, my early TR class is PSY 497: Topics. We are spending a semester in this "workshop" setting. The goal is to have everyone perfect their CVs, Letters of Recommendations, Personal Statements, GRE prep, etc. for grad school applications. I'm super psyched about it. Not to mention it's taught by one of my favorite professors at EKU, Dr. O.

***UPDATE: Jan. 21, 2011 - I saw this blog and thought I would let you know. I did indeed, go all the way to Richmond in a snow storm just for the professor to hand us the syllabus and send us home. Lesson learned, next time it's the first day of class and there's a blizzard outside - I'll email the professor before goin....... no I won't - I'm graduating in May.    :D
