As a new (well... fairly new) bride-to-be, juggling wedding planning and a 40 hour work week can be hard to do. As you can imagine, most of my planning is done with online resources. I'm learning more and more everyday that the popularity of blogs have reached the wedding preparation communities. Most of my ideas have come from wedding planners, vendors, and other businesses across the country - by simply reading their blogs. The beauty of these blogs is that you (1) feel close to the author, and (2) these people aren't giving you biased advice because they are trying to get your business, these people are giving their readers honest and valuable advice.
So what can you expect out of my blog? Well, nothing really. I can't promise you anything. I work too much, so I can't promise that this will hold my interest enough for me to blog often. I have spurts of creativity, so I can't promise that when I feel like blogging, it will be full of productive, well researched advice. What you can probably expect to see here is me, being excited about whats going on with me. Plain-and simple. Right?
So a little about me: I'm starting my junior year as a Psychology major at Eastern Kentucky University. My family jokes with me a lot, asking for free counseling after I graduate, and I play along - but the truth is, I have no idea if I will even go into counseling. I'm almost certain I will go on to graduate school, but I haven't the slightest clue what I want to do with my life. My mind changes too much, and it's a huge decision to make that I'm not willing to commit to yet. Currently, I think either I'll be a wedding/event planner, or a sex therapist/educator.
Speaking of weddings - my engagement. I love organizing ideas, planning things, and really just letting my creativity show. You will probably find a lot of that creativity here. I really want a place to just be excited about all the ideas I have, and maybe those ideas will spark other ideas for other people who will be reading this. I'd love to hear what any of my readers have to say - whether its improvements to things mentioned here, or encouragement or even questions. If you don't want to make it public, please email me at jerie_barnes69@eku.edu
Intended audience. This probably isn't a blog that I will be announcing to all my friends. I mean, not to say its "private," - I don't care for any of my friends or family to know about it, but this will be a place where I feel I'm not obligated to please everyone, and so I can't promise I won't hurt anyone's feelings, and I can't promise they will love or hate it. I'm just being me. It's just that I imagine this blog as something someone stumbles upon, perhaps by accident, and decides we have a lot in common, and makes the decision to continue reading.
So... that's my mission statement I suppose!
I am a beginner though. Can anyone tell me how to make or find free custom layouts for my site? Any help would be appreciated!
I know I just said I "wouldn't promise how often" I would blog, but I do plan on getting started right away. I'm very motivated and excited at the moment, and I just have THOUSANDS of ideas running through my head it seems, and I'm dying to publish them! Mostly to do with wedding planning, and a few to do with new developments in my "what am I going to do with my life" dilemma. I have this entire weekend free - so maybe it will be catch up time!
Goodnight world!
JerRay
